Your Questions

Your Questions

Pricing & Guarantee

Q: How Much Does Fitness Consulting Cost?
A:

A fitness consulting session costs the same amount as a personal training session; however, your overall costs for fitness consulting are much less because it is more efficient. For example, most people meet with their personal trainer two or three times a week to do all of their workouts with a trainer. This is fine if you can afford it, but it is hardly cost efficient.

We think we have created a better way to get the same professional and personalized assistance of a personal trainer, at a price point that makes it affordable. And the best part is you still meet with your trainer face-to-face to keep you accountable. Want to learn how it works in about a minute? Check out this video.

Q: What Is Your Money-Back Guarantee?
A:

We guarantee you will find the service and assistance we provide unparalleled in the fitness and nutrition industry. If after your first session you do not feel our service or our consultants meet your needs, we will refund ALL OF YOUR MONEY prior to your next session.

If after any future sessions you decide our service is not right for you—for any reason--or if you are ready to go it alone and have made fitness a permanent habit, we will refund 100% of your remaining unused balance. There are no processing fees or hurdles you must jump through, just simply contact us via phone or email for your refund (it’s easy, you can get in touch with us via the “Contact Us” button at the top right).

Q: Why Does Fitness Consulting Cost Less Than Personal Training?
A:

Fitness consultants take a more consultative approach, focusing on a different end goal than a specific milestone such as weight loss or performance. Fitness consultants help clients achieve their goals by first helping them to make exercise a permanent part of their life so they gain exercise independence.

By design, this approach reduces the frequency a client meets with his or her consultant, drastically reducing costs when compared to personal trainers who meet with clients two or three times per week.

For example, following three initial consultations, a fitness consultant will typically meet with a client once every two weeks or once a month. Compare this to meeting with a personal trainer two to three times a week and it becomes clear why fitness consulting costs less. We compress the value of what might normally cost $480 - $720 a month ($60 x 2-3 sessions/week x 4 weeks) to $60-$120/month ($60 x 1-2 sessions/month) while giving you better results and true fitness independence.

Q: What Is Your Refund Policy?
A:

We will refund all of your remaining balance for unused sessions at any time for any reason.

If you do not feel our service or our consultants meet your needs for any reason, or if you are ready to go it alone and have made fitness a permanent habit, we will refund 100% of your remaining unused balance. There are no processing fees or hurdles you must jump through, just simply contact us via phone or email (it’s easy, the button is up at the top right) for your refund.

Q: How Much Does Circadian Mobile Cost?
A:

Circadian Mobile is free for our customers while they work with our consultants and for six months following their last training session. If customers want to continue using Circadian Mobile, it costs $14.99 a month.

Please note, by design Circadian mobile requires a consultant to manage scheduling and updating workouts. We designed Circadian Mobile this way to make using it very simple for our customer. It is what differentiates our product from other fitness apps.

As a result, continuing to use Circadian Mobile may require you to periodically check in with your consultant for updates unless your workout does not change and you ask your consultant to schedule recurring workouts for you into the future.

If you want changes made to your workout, some consultants may charge an additional fee for this support if you are not regularly working with them. However, if you meet with a consultant periodically, you will continue to get Circadian Mobile for free and your consultant will make updates as part of your consultations.

Q: What If I Change Consultants & My New Consultant Charges A Different Price?
A:

We maintain and show your remaining training sessions on your account page. If you change consultants, we will credit back the cash amount of your remaining sessions and then apply that cash balance to the purchase of sessions with your new consultant when you check out.

Getting Started

Q: How Do I Sign Up?
A:

Signing up is easy. Simply click on the “Begin Search” button on our homepage or the “Get Started” button at the top of any page on our website.

Our screen prompts will walk you through the rest from selecting your fitness consultant and training location to buying a package. And of course, if you need help, please contact one of our customer service representatives for assistance. It’s easy, you can find our contact information in the “Contact Us” button at the top right of our website. Let’s Search for a Consultant

Q: How Do I Pick The Right Fitness Consultant?
A:

I am sure you feel that picking the right consultant is very important. We agree. So we provide two major views of our consultants to help.

In the “Just the Facts” section of our consultants’ profiles, we highlight their experience, qualifications, and key data points you need to further filter your selection, to include training facilities and pricing. We suggest first narrowing down your search based on these criteria. This will ensure your consultant meets your basic requirements.

But then, how do you ensure you will relate to your consultant?

In the “Getting Personal” section of our consultants’ profiles, we give voice to our consultants’ personality and exercise philosophy. We suggest you spend some time reviewing their stories, both to help you find someone you like, but also to gather ideas.

“What do you mean by ‘gather ideas’?” We are glad you asked. Within the getting personal section, our consultants give insight into how they found their rhythm, that is, what specifically it is about exercise that helped them make it a permanent habit. You may find reviewing this information helpful, and you could possibly find an idea or two to try for yourself.

But just in case you feel after a session or two you would like to try working with a different consultant, we allow you to easily switch consultants at any time until you find the one that works perfectly with you.

Q: Can I Change Fitness Consultants?
A:

Yes, you may change consultants at any time. You may do this online within your account. And if you do change consultants, per our agreement with all of our Fitness Consultants, they cannot contact you once you have selected to work with a new consultant.

Q: How Often Should I Meet With My Fitness Consultant?
A:

We recommend meeting with a fitness consultant for three upfront sessions so she or he can design your workout, teach you all the exercises in your workout, and provide you with initial counseling on ways to integrate exercise into your life.

Thereafter, we recommend meeting with your consultant once every two weeks or once a month. This keeps you focused and accountable while giving you the opportunity to collaborate with your consultant as you work through daily challenges affecting how consistently you work out. Oh and one more thing, this enables your consultant to kick your butt and make necessary program changes so you continue to make progress.

Q: What Is The Minimum Number Of Sessions I Need To Get Started?

Q: How Do I Pick A Training Facility?
A:

We provide a detailed overview of the facilities where our consultants provide one-on-one training in this FAQ in the question above, Can You Tell Me About Your Different Training Facilities? To select a facility follow our screen prompts when checking out. Please note, we have preprogrammed our search to only permit you to select facilities served by the consultant you pick.

If you have a particular type of facility where you would like to train, we recommend using our advanced search feature found at the top right of our search page. Don’t worry, we have screen prompts to help.

Q: What If The Gym Where I Regularly Work Out Has Different Equipment From The Equipment At The Consultant's Location?
A:

Our fitness consultants primarily design programs using bodyweight and free weight exercises. They will teach you proper techniques to perform these exercises, which you can use when working with free weights at any gym.

If a fitness consultant includes machine exercises in your routine, he or she will show you how to perform the exercise(s) on a similar machine (including cardio equipment) in your one-on-one session. If your consultant cannot demonstrate this on a machine in your one-on-one session, your consultant will use his or her best judgment to decide if you are ready to perform an exercise. If not, your consultant will supplement in another exercise.

Circadian Fitness consultants are hand-picked throughout Orange County based on their skill as fitness professionals. They know 100’s of effective exercises and are prepared to seamlessly adjust your workout to match the equipment in your home or gym to meet your needs.

Q: What Motivational Tools Do You Offer?
A:

We believe motivation is critical to your success and what motivates you may differ from someone else. For this reason, we created five optional tools (and numerous little surprises) based on key, behavioral-psychology principals, so you can experiment to find the right tool(s) to encourage you. Four of these tools are available for free whenever working with a fitness consultant and for six months after your last one-on-one session. The fifth tool is free for the world.

Completion Goal
Ask any self-help guru, psychologist, Oprah Winfrey...ok, basically everyone what you should do to find success and they will tell you to set a goal and write it down. We do this for you and then some. Once you and your Consultant have determined your exercise plan, your consultant will help you set a “Completion Goal.” This is a commitment you set for your exercise consistency, that is, how much you will work out according to your plan. We recommend a goal of at least 80%. This means you commit to completing at least 80% of your planned workouts. Once you decide on your goal, we will add this to your mobile workout. Then, each time you work out (or skip a workout), you will get real-time feedback on the percentage of workouts you have completed. Oddly enough, many of our clients have found this little number to be one of their most powerful motivators. We hope you enjoy it too.

Social Networking
We think this social networking thing may just stick around for a while, so we figure we might as well use it for you.  We connected Circadian Mobile to your Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. This optional feature enables you to automatically share your progress with friends, to include advising them how successful you are with meeting your completion goals as described above. You can have these (optional) posts sent following each workout, once a week, or once a month.

Text & Email Reminders
Exercise helps our memory, and just in case it hasn’t kicked in to help yours yet, we will send you optional reminders if you have missed a workout.

Once you get started, you can “turn on” our (optional) text or email reminders from your online account. So whenever you forget to confirm, skip, or delay a workout, you’ll get a reminder with a link to view that day’s workout and then confirm, skip, or delay the workout. This makes maintaining a workout log of all of your workout data as simple as the click of a button.

Group Activities & Classes (free for everyone)

Our site contains a free search feature so you can easily find activities near you to include running clubs, swimming clubs, hiking groups, fitness boot camps, biking groups, yoga classes, and much more. We feel that for many people the camaraderie or energy found in group activities is just what they need to keep them motivated to exercise.

Check out our search feature to see if you can find something you like. Check back often because we not only regularly update the schedules on this site, but also add new content such as descriptions and pictures of trails and activities throughout Orange County--so you can always find a fun activity near you.

Q: What Is Your Consultant Code Of Conduct?
A:

All Circadian Fitness Consultants operate as Independent Contractors with Circadian Fitness. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU: We provide our Consultants with a few Hard-Stop Rules (meaning we won’t budge), some Guidelines, and lots of Freedom.

A Few Hard-Stop Rules
Our hard-stop rules dictate what consultant behaviors and actions we find acceptable and unacceptable. This includes the following:

Consultants may provide exercise recommendations following widely-accepted industry practices that generally align with recommendations of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Consultants may provide nutritional advice following widely-accepted industry practices that generally align with recommendations of the American Dietetics Association (ADA) and World Health Organization (WHO).

Consultants do not provide recommendations, counseling, or services to rehabilitate an injury or directly manage a known disease.

Consultants must treat all clients and Circadian Fitness consultants with respect and responsibility.  Consultants must comply with all federal and state laws and adhere to ethical codes and company policies, procedures, rules or regulations, including those forbidding sexual harassment, discrimination, and unfair business practices.

Guidelines
Our guidelines steer our consultants to focusing on providing clients with focused support to enable our clients to make fitness a permanent part of their life. Weight loss, nutrition, & health benefits all come secondary to empowering our clients with fitness independence. Without fitness independence, any other objective will soon fade. Lots Of Freedom
We give our consultants lots of freedom, which empowers them to help you reach your full potential. We set up Circadian Fitness based on one principal: Create the best possible product for you, our client. We decided doing this meant we needed to give our consultants freedom to create the best program possible. It also meant we needed to give you lots of freedom:

  • Freedom to keep your costs low
  • Freedom to change consultants at any time
  • Freedom to find activities you enjoy
  • Freedom to workout whenever and wherever you want
  • Freedom to make exercise a permanent habit

Q: How Do I Pick A Training Facility?
A:

We provide a detailed overview of the facilities where our consultants provide one-on-one training in this FAQ in the question above Can You Tell Me About Your Different Training Facilities?.

Q: What Type Of Equipment Do You Have At Your Training Facilities?
A:

The equipment found at each location varies. Please reference FAQ section, "What are your training facilities?" for a brief overview of equipment typically found at the various facilities we support.

You may also review a consultant’s specific facility by reviewing pictures of the facility found on each consultant’s bio page. You can find the link to facility pictures on the  “Just the Facts” page in the “Facilities & Schedule” section of a consultants full bio.

Q: What If The Gym Where I Regularly Work Out Has Different Equipment From The Equipment At The Consultant's Location?
A:

Our consultants primarily design programs using bodyweight and free weight exercises. They will teach you proper techniques to perform these exercises, which you can use when working with free weights at any gym.

If a consultant includes machine exercises in your routine, he or she will show you how to perform the exercise(s) on a similar machine (including cardio equipment) in your one-on-one session.

Mobile App

Q: Will Circadian Mobile Work On My Smartphone?
A:

Our mobile product, Circadian Mobile, works on any smartphone with a web browser. Additionally, we have specifically optimized Circadian Mobile to run on the following mobile browsers:

Safari (iPhone), Chrome (Android), Firefox Mobile (Android), Internet Explorer Mobile (Windows Phone 7 & 8)

Q: Is Circadian Mobile Hard To Use?
A:

We designed our mobile product, Circadian Mobile, with one major goal: Make it simple. This means we leave the heavy lifting of creating, modifying, and scheduling workouts to our consultants so you only need to confirm, skip, or delay your workouts in the app. That’s it. Learning how to use Circadian Mobile takes two minutes or less. And if you have read this, you already know 90% of how to use it.

So think easy, not computer easy, but more like elevator button easy.

Q: How Does Circadian Mobile Work?
A:

Circadian Mobile is very user friendly and requires less than two minutes to learn.

After logging in, Circadian Mobile opens your homepage where you will see any workout(s) you have that day and a calendar showing past and upcoming workouts as designed and recommended by your consultant.

Each workout shows a list of exercises, which include an illustration, description of each exercise, and all critical exercise data such as number of reps, sets, weight, speed, distance, and etc. You may update any exercise data within a workout, such as weight lifted or distance run should you decided to alter that day's workout; however, for most workouts you will simply follow the exercises as recommended by your consultant. Then simply hit the Confirm button and you are done. Or if you would like to skip a workout or delay it for one day, simply hit the Skip, or Delay button.

All other features are managed by your consultant. So that’s it. You now know how to fully use our mobile product.

Q: Can I Use Circadian Mobile Without Working With A Fitness Consultant?
A:

We designed our mobile product with one major goal: Make it simple. This means we needed to design and specifically optimize Circadian Mobile for customers working with a Circadian Fitness consultant.

As a result of this effort, we created the most user-friendly fitness app on the market. Users need only to confirm, skip, or delay workouts. That’s it. Learning how to use Circadian Mobile takes two minutes or less. And if you have read this, you already know 90% of how to use it.

If you would like to have your trainer use Circadian Mobile so you can access and manage your workouts from your smartphone, please visit our Optimize Your Trainer Page.

Q: What If I Want My Personal Trainer To Use Circadian Mobile?
A:

Tell us and we will contact them to see if they love it too. If they do, we will arrange a way for them to use it with you. To get started, check out our Optimize My Trainer Page

Q: What Happens To My Workout When I Change Consultants?
A:

When you change consultants, your new consultant will contact you to schedule your first meeting.

Prior to your first meeting, your new consultant will read through your workout program and review it with your previous consultant. During your first meeting they will then discuss your objectives, limitations, schedule, and anything you want to change or if you would like to entirely revamp your program. Your new consultant will then begin showing you your new exercises.

Within 48 hours following your first session, your new consultant will make all workout updates you need.

Please note, Circadian Fitness policy prohibits fitness consultants from contacting their previous clients unless the client contacts them.  At no time will your previous fitness consultant contact you unless requested by you.

Personal Training

We compress the value of what might normally cost $480 - $720 a month to $60-$120/month while giving you true fitness independence.

Q: What Is The Difference Between A Fitness Consultant & A Personal Trainer?
A:

Personal trainers design workouts and programs for their clients, teach them how to perform exercises in their workout correctly, and provide nutritional guidance to help them reach their goals. Fitness consultants do this, but they also do a little bit more:

  • Fitness consultants focus on more than fitness or weight loss goals: They help you find the “little things” in exercise that keep you coming back to working out; until one day, you find your rhythm and make exercise a permanent part of your life.
  • Fitness consultants cost ten times less than personal trainers because you only meet with your consultant as needed, so your time with your consultant is far more productive and your overall cost is far less.
  • Fitness consultants match you with activities and routines that fit your personality and your lifestyle. Even if that means they help you join a group activity and you no longer need their support.

We recommend meeting with a fitness consultant for three upfront sessions so she or he can design your workout, teach you all the exercises in your workout, and provide initial counseling on ways to integrate exercise into your life. Thereafter, we recommend meeting with your consultant once every two weeks or once a month. This keeps you focused and accountable while giving you the opportunity to collaborate with your consultant as you work through daily challenges affecting how consistently you work out.

Q: Do You Offer Personal Training?
A:

Yes. While we primarily promote our fitness consulting services, many of our clients choose to meet with their consultant more frequently for personal training. Pricing for individual personal training sessions is the same as for fitness consulting. Simply purchase sessions and schedule your sessions more frequently with your consultant. He or she will work with you to design your program and training sessions to match the frequency you want. In addition, your consultant may offer special discounts for group training (2 or 3 people), 30-minute sessions, and off-peak sessions, which we also support.

Nutrition

Q: Do You Have Nutritionists?
A:

While our Consultants each have a strong background in nutrition, including many having completed advanced coursework, we also specifically offer nutritional support via our registered dieticians.

Working with a registered dietician not only gives you peace of mind that your nutritionist has demonstrated subject matter mastery with the American Dietetics Association, but also ensures they realistically know how to fit healthy eating with your lifestyle.

To find a nutritionist, simply use our search feature and select “Nutritionist” from the Service drop down menu. Let's Search for a Nutritionist.

Q: How Much Does It Cost To Work With A Nutritionist?
A:

Our pricing for nutritionists varies by nutritionists; however, we feel you will find our pricing is competitive. You may access our search feature to view pricing. Search for a Nutritionist.

Q: What About Weight Loss, Jumping Higher, & Flying To The Moon?
A:

We could easily promise to help you lose a thousand pounds in five weeks, tone you up until you crack walnuts with your bum, or fly you to the moon on one of our pieces of exercise equipment, but why brag about the easy things. We measure success by helping our clients make fitness permanent, and once they do, their other goals easily fall into place. So yes, our certified consultants will help you lose weight, get more fit, and whatever else that can be done for you via diet and exercise. More importantly, though, we make sure how you reach your goals is something you can—and will—do for the rest of your life. Because then results follow and habits stick.

For some information about why it matters how fast you lose weight,  and why slow and steady may be the smarter path, check out our blog article: Why Our Bodies Won't Let Go of Weight Gain

Group Activities

Q: What Is Your "Activities" Page?
A:

We created a search feature to help you find fitness activities near you. For example, if you’re curious whether there is a group that goes on walks within six miles of your home on Monday’s between 7:00am and 9:00am, you can find this out on our search page.

To be honest, we had no idea just how much was going on throughout Orange County until we built our search. We were blown away by how many clubs welcome new members and guests to join them on hikes, walks, runs, bike rides, and social fitness events nearly every day of the week. And the best part is most of the events are free.  Check it out  for yourself.

Q: How Much Does It Cost To Search For Activities?
A:

Our activities search service is free; however, please note some groups may charge a membership fee (usually around $30.00 per year) or a small fee for an event. This information is provided in the search results.

Q: Why Do You Offer A Free Activities Search Feature; Won't That Decrease Your Personal Training Business?
A:

Our mission is to help people get fit; we’re not doing this for the money. So offering a free service that gets more people fit is just something we had to do. We figured out how to do it to make it free, so we did.

Mailing List

Q: How Often Do You Email People On Your Mailing List?
A:

Once a month.

Except on rare occasions, (and by rare we mean twice a year or less) when we want to announce something prior to our next regularly scheduled email. We personally hate email spam, so we won’t send it to you.

Q: Will You Sell Or Distribute My Email If I Sign Up For Your Mailing List?
A:

To be honest, we don’t know how to “sell” your email if we wanted to. And of course we do not want to, so simply, we absolutely do not and will not sell or distribute your email to anyone else.

Q: How Can I Get On Your Mailing List?
A:

Send us your email via the “Join Readership” button on our blog page, or via the "Join Readership" section on this page to the right.

Q: How Can I Get Off Your Mailing List?
A:

At the bottom of every one of our emails sent to our mailing list is an “unsubscribe” link. Click on it and we will remove your email from our mailing list. Or simply contact us.
